Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 30, 2026

We take your privacy seriously. Even though we are a student team, we want you to know exactly what happens to your data when you use our website. This policy explains what information we collect, why we do it, and what your rights are. We reserve the right to update this policy occasionally, and by using our website, you agree to its current version.

1. Who we are and how to contact us

The data controller responsible for your personal data is our student team:

  • Team Name: SoRC

2. What personal data we collect

We only process data that you actively provide to us and anonymous data from your browser. We can divide this into two categories:

  • Contact Data: Your first name, last name, and email address, which you fill into our contact form, along with the content of your message.
  • Technical Data: When you browse our website, we automatically measure basic traffic. We only collect anonymous information (e.g., browser type, operating system, or how you interact with our site). This data cannot be used to identify you, and we do not track your specific IP address.

3. How and why we use your data

We do not collect your data for marketing purposes, nor do we sell it to anyone. We only use it for the following purposes:

  • Communicating with you: We need your contact details to answer your questions or discuss potential cooperation. This processing is based on our legitimate interest (when you write to us, it makes sense that we need to reply).
  • Improving our website: Technical data helps us understand what content visitors are interested in so we can improve our website.

4. Who we share your data with

We do our best to keep your data safe and only share it when absolutely necessary. The following parties have access to your data:

  • Authorized members of the SoRC team.
  • Our IT service providers (e.g., our web hosting or email provider). These providers act only as data processors and while they store your data, they can not use your data for their own purposes.

5. How long we keep your data

We keep your personal data only for as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry. Usually, we delete your message from our inbox once the matter is resolved (within 6 months at the latest), unless our communication leads to a more permanent cooperation.

6. Links to third-party websites

Our website may contain links to third-party sites (e.g., our partners or social media). We are not responsible for how these external websites handle your data. We recommend that you always read the privacy policy of the respective website before submitting any information there.

7. Your rights

Even though we are a small project, we fully respect your rights under the GDPR. Among other things, you have the right to:

  • Request access to your personal data to see exactly what we hold about you.
  • Request rectification of inaccurate information.
  • Request erasure (the "right to be forgotten") if you no longer want us to keep your message.

If you wish to exercise any of these rights, simply email us at [email protected].
